1 David Hurricks

David was UK Building Manager of the Year in 1999, while with Mowlem. Now he is joining Bluestone as area director for Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and the North Thames Gateway. He will be based at the company’s Hatfield office.

2 Martin Cheesman

Boutique project management company Concept has appointed Martin as a specialist in healthcare project management to bolster its PFI/PPP team. One of Martin’s key roles at Concept will be to add value to the team handling the project management of the £14.5m Mary Potter Joint Access Centre Nottingham, under the Greater Nottingham LIFT programme.

3 Jim McEwan

Cuddy Group has appointed Jim as its first group business development director. Jim previously worked for Controlled Demolition Group, where he was group business development director for nearly four years.

4 Gavin Thompson

Gavin is to becomes the managing director of Buro Happold. He takes over responsibility for this position from Padraic Kelly. Gavin joined Buro Happold in 1988 and has worked for the practice in Europe, the Middle East and Far East on a range of projects. In 2000 he became a partner.

5 Michael Hudson

Lovell has appointed Michael as business development manager in East Anglia. Michael, 49, has joined Lovell from Bidwells Property Consultants where he was office partner at Northampton. In his new role, Michael will be based at the Lovell office in Cambridge.

6 Kevin Jones

The UK’s leading supplier of pre-owned modular buildings, Foremans Relocatable Building Systems, has appointed Kevin as managing director. Previously operations manager for foremans’ sister company, Yorkon. He has 25 years experience in the sector.

David Page has joined CR Management as a senior consultant. He has extensive experience working with major contractors and was previously the Commercial Director for Curzon Interiors.

Peter Quinn is taking on the dual role of customer care manager and quality assurance manager with Pettifer Construction in Warwickshire. Quinn, 60, was formerly a senior contracts manager for Allenbuild Midlands.

Steve Lawrenson is Osborne’s new land manager for its homes division. His remit is to find and develop land in conjunction with housing associations on complicated and brownfield sites.

Barry Curran has been appointed environmental coordinator for north-west construction group Cruden. Curran will oversee compliance with environmental protection system ISO 14001 and hazardous waste regulations.
