Buro Happold security consultant Andrew Sieradzki has been appointed a member of Council by the Association of Security Consultants (ASC). The year-long appointment will see Andrew and nine fellow Council members set and monitor ASC policy through monthly meetings. Andrew joined Buro Happold in 2000.
Barry Dawson has been promoted to managing director of guarding contractor Securiplan with overall responsibility for the corporate, retail and systems parts of the Securiplan Group’s security business. Barry joined Securiplan in 1999, and has since rebuilt and led the national Operations Team while overseeing major national client management.
The new regional director for London at security solutions provider Initial Security is Edward Carter. 43-year-old Carter brings 22 years’ experience in facilities management, contracting and consultancy to the role, having held director level appointments with several major FM providers.
Pauline Norstrom has been appointed worldwide head of marketing at Dedicated Micros – part of the AD Group and a specialist in the field of CCTV solutions. Norstrom will provide strategic direction for all of the company’s marketing and promotional activities worldwide, covering key operational regions encompassing the UK and Ireland, Europe, the Middle East, South Africa, the Far East and Australasia.
Former Initial Security managing director Tony O’Neill (pictured) has joined JKM Recruitment as a director. Responsible for business development in the south of England, Tony is using his expertise to source new contract security labour from Poland (which is rapidly becoming a popular labour market for all sorts of UK operations as more than 100,000 Poles have registered to work here). In the north of England, Cliff Mason – former managing director of Guardrite plc – is heading up JKM’s business, which currently runs offices on Merseyside, in Buckinghamshire and Warsaw.
Stephen Hayes, the former managing director of Specialised Investigation Services (SIS), has recently been appointed as a consultant and non-executive chairman at Quantum Enquiries and Surveillance. Hayes was the originator of quality filmed evidence in the 1970s, providing the film in the case of Kellogg’s versus McGuiness – the first legal directive on the use of filmed evidence.
As part of its internal restructuring programme, digital CCTV recording and control specialist Synectics has appointed Peter Hall as operations director. Having spent the previous two years with the company as finance director, Hall will now take charge of personnel issues (including the co-ordination of Synectics’ UK-based Service Team and key product manufacturing/delivery logistics).
Honeywell’s Systems Group boasts a new sales director for the EMEA region in the shape of Joseph Janick. Based in the Netherlands, Janick is tasked with overseeing the sales of all Honeywell access and video products and systems, working closely with sales and marketing teams across the entire EMEA region to develop new strategies and reinforce current product positioning.
G4Tec is pleased to announce that Richard Jess has been promoted to sales manager for Scotland. Reporting to divisional manager Brian Fallon, Richard will be in charge of all sales initiatives (including the initial and ongoing recruitment of additional sales executives). He has worked for the company over 12 years as both an access control and CCTV systems sales executive.
Digital CCTV solutions developer Dowshu has welcomed Sean Clancy to its ever-expanding team of security experts. Clancy brings much experience to his role as southern regional sales manager, having worked in the security industry for the past 20 years at companies including Loronix and PTS Security within manufacturing, distribution and systems integration.
Award-winning unshielded twisted pair (UTP) transmission specialist Network Video Technologies (NVT) has appointed Steve Hooper as its European sales manager. Steve joins NVT from Honeywell, where he spent 14 years in a variety of roles – most recently serving as export sales manager. With over 30 years’ experience in the industry, Steve’s new role will see him promoting NVT’s comprehensive range of high performance UTP transmission equipment in the EMEA region.
Retail operations and security expert Paul Burrows has been appointed by Norprint Labelling Systems to head up retail security development, working as part of the company’s Brand Authentication and Retail Security Solutions Division. Paul will be striving to develop innovative security solutions for both new and existing end user customers.
Stentofon-Zenitel (UK) – an industry leader in the amplification and transmission of audio communications for secure sites – has appointed Martin Greenwood as managing director. Reporting to Liselott Kilaas, the company’s executive vice-president for communications and security systems, Greenwood is to manage the firm’s UK client base from its Crawley headquarters.
