Reliance Security Services has appointed Michael Carre as managing director. Carre has been with the company since 1998, having served initially as commercial director and then more recently as operations director. Prior to this, Michael held a number of senior sales, purchasing and other commercial positions within GE Capital, Hertz Leasing, Rank Xerox and British Rail.
Andrew Morgan has taken on the role of business development director for the Security Systems Division at Siemens Building Technologies. Andrew has been with the organisation for 17 years, most recently serving as marketing and communications manager. In addition to his new role (which will be market sector-focused and aimed at developing bespoke solutions for clients), Andrew retains overall responsibility for the marcomms function.
Guarding contractor St James Security has announced a series of managerial appointments in support of its rapidly expanding operations. Michael White joins as regional manager for the south, with Mehmet Kavaz taking over as operations director in the same area. Both bring a wealth of senior security management experience to their respective roles. Meantime, St James has also appointed Steve Barron as operations manager for its Shopping Centres portfolio in the North. Barron was originally contract manager for the company's security operation at The MetroCentre on Tyneside.
Following a period of sustained growth and international expansion, national security company Octavian Security has appointed two directors to its Board. Anthony Henry is the new business development director while his colleague Jot Engelbrecht [-] one of the company's very first security officers [-] assumes the role of operations and training director. Henry joined in 2005, originally as manager of business development.
Specialist international business risk, intelligence and investigations concern The Inkerman Group has just appointed Nick Howard as head of specialist risk. Howard will be responsible for managing the company's kidnap and ransom products, while heading up the global team. Howard brings almost 30 years' law enforcement experience to the role, formerly rising to the rank of detective superintendent with Lincolnshire Police. He is also an accredited National Crime Squad kidnap and extortion controller.
To support the company's strategic expansion plans, Les Beverley has joined specialist shopping centre security systems integrator G1 as technical sales manager. Les will report to commercial manager Paul Murray, and will be responsible for strengthening regional sales of CCTV, project management and client support.
Due to continued expansion, M-Set Technologies has made a key appointment in its senior management team. Steve Black is appointed business development manager in order to build sales of M-Set's market-leading range of guard tour and time and attendance solutions. Steve brings a wealth of experience to the company, having previously held key strategic roles in blue chip companies within the IT sector.
Argyll Telecom has strengthened its Board with the appointment of Ken McGeoch as financial director. The appointment follows hot-on-the-heels of rapid growth for the company, which develops bespoke technological solutions to support employers and their lone worker employees. Prior to joining Argyll Telecom, Ken was financial director at The Lewis Group plc. He has also been responsible for high profile contracts such as the Companies House Division and the operation of the London Parking Wardens. In his new role, Ken will become company secretary and oversee all of Argyll's financial planning and development.
Honeywell has announced the appointment of Yves Pichon as marketing leading for Honeywell Security in the EMEA Region. Pichon is responsible for the product development and marketing of all commercial solutions involving the well-known Galaxy brand of intruder alarm panels. Pichon's career spans more than 16 years in key roles with Fichet Bauche, Sensormatic and, more recently, ADT (where he served as marketing director for Europe).
Several new appointments have been made at Cooper Security. Dave Lunn is the new managing director, joining from GE where he has been country manager for the UK security business since September 2004. Prior to this, Lunn [-] a member of The Company of Security Professionals [-] had worked at GE Lighting and Chloride Safety Systems. The new operations director is Andrew Margrie. Margrie joins from Woodward International, where he was the operations manager of the diesel fuel injection system manufacturer's Cheltenham plant. Peter Butler is the company's commercial manager, taking over from Alan Wilson who has retired.
Dedicated Micros Inc [-] the US subsidiary of Dedicated Micros [-] has appointed Dr Alan Calegari as president and chief executive officer. The Virginia-based company is responsible for the US, Canadian and Latin American markets. Prior to this appointment Dr Calegari was active across a broad spectrum of senior management roles, most notably as president and regional head of Siemens Building Technologies. He brings more than 20 years' experience in security, fire safety and building automation to his new role.
Electrosonic has announced the appointment of Mike Hood to the position of product marketing manager for the new VN Matrix [-] a powerful, real-time image encoder/decoder. Mike is tasked with strategic sales growth in a variety of vertical markets including education, medical education, exploration, defence and industrial design collaboration.
Aladdin Knowledge Systems has appointed Tsion Gonen as vice-president of the Aladdin eSafe Business Unit. Gonen will lead worldwide sales efforts for eSafe, the award-winning Internet gateway security solution for integrated, proactive content security, spyware and virus protection. Gonen was previously with Sony Ericsson Israel, where he was general manager and then managing director.
Secure communication concern Zenitel has confirmed its commitment to the Asia-Pacific region with the appointment of Simon Yang Hwee Bin as regional manager for Zenitel Asia. Simon brings a strong, in-depth knowledge of PBX, Voice-over-IP and secure telephony solutions to the post. He will now introduce Zenitel's latest voice-over-IP solution to the end user marketplace.
