Jeffeory Vance
With a City & Guilds 2360 Part C already under his belt, Jeffeory, 22, of County Londonderry, is currently in the second year of a BTEC ONC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Studying at the North West Institute of Further and Higher Education, if successful in his exams this summer, Jeffeory plans to progress to an HNC in the subject. At the same time he will undertake a City & Guilds 2391 electrical inspection and testing course, which will let him apply for a JIB Electrotechnical Certification Scheme card. And he doesn't intend to stop there. Jeffeory also hopes to continue onto a two year degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Jeffeory is employed by Lorne Electric as an electrician, where he is now learning the basics of quantity surveying, estimating and contracts management. He was thrilled to reach the finals of the competition and says, "Being a finalist is a great addition to an apprentice's CV and it will stand me in good stead for the future."
