Governance is interpreted in its widest sense, including representation on a board, involvement in resident associations, planning days, surveys and consultations, tenant participation initiatives, wider regeneration schemes and structures and systems aimed at young people.
The project focuses on young leaseholders aged 17-24 as adult citizens and users of adult-focused services such as transport, housing, employment, childcare, school and community facilities. PfA is looking for examples of good practice in youth involvement in decision-making either by RSLs or within the public or voluntary sectors.
PfA is currently compiling a set of guidance notes for the five RSLs that have been selected to take part in this project. At the end of the project these will be revised and disseminated widely within the RSL sector.
If any readers have undertaken any relevant youth participation work that they would like to share, please get in touch.
