Outside users to gain access to Arlington e-procurement from next year
Business park developer Arlington Securities has confirmed that it will make its web site, ArlingtonOnline – which includes e-procurement services – available to non-Arlington tenants in the new year.

Howard Bibby, managing director of Arlington business services, told The Facilities Business that during December the complete package of online services will be rolled out to the developer's 300-plus occupiers, with a new-year target for non-customers.

Arlington will re-brand the web site for outside users who want to make use of the online service package, if customers wish.

He said: 'We have some large shareholders, such as Legal and General, who may be interested. They are already investing in our business parks so they may well want this service.'

He said businesses could sign up exclusively to ArlingtonOnline in the form of a company intranet and still have access to a wide range of services. 'In this way, it becomes a restricted Internet with all the benefits of being a corporate tool,' he said.

The portal is aimed at corporate finance directors and the employees of Arlington's tenants, to enable them to procure products and services.

The services on offer include, business purchasing, access to a services desk, business directory, local information and Arlington news.

Employees can use the web site to access about 50 major on-line brands, place personal adverts and for individual web-mail services.
