Housing Today’s assistant editor Stuart Macdonald was named housing journalist of the year at the International Building Press Awards last Thursday.
The judges said Macdonald had won “an epic struggle … since only a handful of marks separated the leading candidates”.
The panel – which included John Waples, deputy business editor of The Sunday Times – added: “He submitted good campaigning articles on topical subjects and demonstrated strong research and human interest qualities.”
Chloe Stothart, deputy news editor, was shortlisted in the same category. Last year the award was won by another Housing Today journalist, features editor Katie Puckett.
