Awards aplenty handed to AD Group

The company was also ranked second overall for the combined Midlands and North of England regions. The ranking are based on the average percentage growth over five years, with the AD Group growing by 4430 per cent during this time.

The company's group finance director Andrew King said the success was due to AD's "ability to create and bring to market leading edge CCTV solutions on the ground, in the air and on the move".

"We are pleased to have been recognised once again for the strength of our business, following on as it does from our leading position in last year's Deloitte Indy 100 award for the UK's fastest growing companies," he said. "As a group we continue to grow both organically and through acquisition, with recent additions to our portfolio including US semiconductor manufacturer ChipWrights and Hampshire-based D-Tec which specialises in Video Smoke Detection."

DM founder and CEO of AD Group, Mike Newton, has also been recognised for his achievements recently, reaching the finals of the 2005 National Business Awards.

He was the only person from the security industry to be shortlisted for the awards, and is in the Entrepreneur of the Year category, sponsored by Credit Suisse.

Chair of Judges Philip Forrest said: "For Mike to be selected as a finalist was a major achievement and in the end there was a very small margin between him and the eventual winner. What really stood out for the judges when shortlisting was Mike's ability, over a sustained period of time, to come up with truly innovative CCTV solutions on the ground, in the air and on the move, many of which are landmarks in the industry."

Another AD Group company, D-Tec, won the best Alarm Product category in an international awards scheme held in Sweden. The FireVu IP based video smoke detection system was announced the winner during a high profile gala dinner organised by Detektor International at the Globe Arena , Stockholm.
