John Mowlem has won the sought after British Airways Workplace 2002 contract.
BA and Mowlem are negotiating the details of the contract and hope to finalise the deal by the end of the year. It is expected the contract will run for three years, but length and scope may be extended.

BA senior property manager Alison Hartigan said: 'All four shortlisted companies demonstrated innovative and confident delivery and were able to achieve the cost saving targets.'

But, she said, 'Mowlem showed greatest understanding of our strategy, demonstrated tenacious delivery, an appetite for step change and cultural fit with our vision'.

An Emcor spokesman said it will continue to do M&E and fabric work at the site, and hopes to 'enter into a long term strategic partnership' with Mowlem to continue the work.

Workplace 2002 aims to change BA's procurement and service delivery at 120 locations and save 15 per cent on costs in the first year.
