Mitie Engineering Services (Leeds) has installed 39 universal feedthrough filter units to protect the power supplies to 350 computer sockets at a new state-of-the-art school in Leeds.
Brigshaw High School in Castleford is a 1400-pupil school. It has been designed and built using a plethora of high-tech and environmentally conscious products and techniques, including rainwater recovery and solar and wind power on dedicated supplies.
The Design Services Agency of Leeds City Council was anxious to ensure effective protection of the school's computer equipment against radio frequency interference and electromagnetic interference. It suggested filtered sockets, however, Mitie proposed using MEM 250 universal feedthrough filters to protect each final circuit serving the IT systems. This solution meant that standard sockets could be used throughout the project.
