Contractors value highly the work carried out by the British Approvals Service for Cables (BASEC), market research conducted for organisation has revealed. Coupled with this is an increased recognition of BASEC’s approval work in the datacomms sector.
When asked how much importance they placed on BASEC approval of electric wires and cables, 93% of respondents scored their reply in the important to very important category. And, when asked whether they associated BASEC-approved products with being costly, only 10% replied yes – the lowest response to date.

John Senders, BASEC chief executive, commented on the findings, saying: “They clearly show that BASEC’s work means a lot to industry professionals and that we must continue to work closely with our cable manufacturing clients to uphold the good name of the sector.”
