BK Gulf, the mechanical and electrical engineering company jointly owned by Dutco and Balfour Beatty, has won the electrical and mechanical systems contracts for two projects in the United Arab Emirates worth £99m.

BK Gulf will provide services for the Marina Hotel project on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, and the Trump International Hotel and tower project in Dubai.

The £38m Marina Hotel project forms part of the new Formula 1 racing complex development due for completion in 2009, while the £61m Trump project is due for completion in 2010.

Balfour Beatty chief executive, Ian Tyler, said: “These project wins further underline our leading position in the fast-growing UAE construction market. We are playing a leading part in the civil engineering, building construction and building services sectors in the UAE and expect robust growth to continue in the foreseeable future.”

Dutco Balfour Beatty was also awarded a £141m roads and bridgeworks project to construct two interchanges as part for Dubai’s Waterfront Development, the latest in a series of civil engineering projects the company has been awarded by client Nakhell.
