Security managers at the Bluewater Shopping Centre have specified Pelco’s DX9200 digital recorders to cover surveillance requirements

The CCTV requirements at such a vast and diverse location as the Bluewater Retail Complex in Kent place extreme demands on the equipment chosen. Following an extensive 12-month evaluation programme, covering all current makes of DVR, Bluewater’s management team specified Pelco’s DX9200 recorders to handle the vast number of images generated by the cameras on site.
Providing 31 days of video storage from the 384 CCTV cameras dotted around the complex, each unit can record up to 25 images per second, offering both real time recording and playback. An additional remote viewing station is located inside the on-site police facility which sits adjacent to Bluewater.
“The appeal of Pelco for Bluewater was enhanced by the quality of technical support and training courses available from them,” commented Paul Harris, managing director at Sabre who now maintain all of the on-site CCTV systems. “The company has fully-trained the Bluewater CCTV personnel, including operators and police officers, and has committed to run ongoing ‘refresher’ courses in the future.”
The Pelco DX9200 is one of the most sophisticated systems on the market, and is typically deployed in high street retail applications. Failsafe redundancy, high speed video access and the straightforward Windows-based operating systems used on the DX9200 ensure continued operation, fast access to the required data and minimal operator training.
