Disabled people from black and minority-ethnic groups are far more likely to live in substandard housing than their white counterparts, said a report published on Tuesday.
The year-long study of three London boroughs claims the specific needs of black people with disabilities were not being met by housing providers or by public funding initiatives.
The Different Paths report, commissioned by Asra Greater London Housing Association and Habinteg Housing Association, called on the government to publish figures for housing conditions of black people with disabilities. It said they were far more likely to be wrongly housed than white disabled people. The report showed that 40% of BME households live in non-decent homes, compared with 32% of white households.
