One of the biggest events in the CIOB calendar takes place on Tuesday 24 September at the Park Lane Hilton in London. If you haven’t yet booked your place for the 2002 Building Manager of the Year Awards, now is the time.
Where other awards reward design, processes or products, the BMYA is a unique celebration of the achievements of construction managers. This year’s awards will be made for Building Manager of the Year for projects over £17m, those between £3m and £17m and projects up to £3m. The overall Building Manager of the Year will come from the gold winner of one of those categories. There will also be awards for Housing Constructor of the Year for projects more than three storeys and for projects up to three storeys, plus a BT Award for Technology in Construction.

Around 800 people will be at the evening. “With the 1,600 or 1,800 attendees at some of the other events, you don’t get the chance to meet anyone,” says John Douglas, managing director at the CIOB’s Englemere arm. “Our night is big enough to generate a great buzz but small enough for effective networking.”

CIOB members can book a table for 10 for a special membership price of £1,650 or an individual place for £165. For more information, phone Lesley Curtis on 01344 630802 or email her at lcurtis@englemere.co.uk.
