The Metropolitan Police Service has joined forces with forecourt security and crime reduction campaigner the British Oil Security Syndicate (BOSS) to roll-out the successful Forecourt Watch scheme (‘Trouble on the Forecourt’, SMT, April 2005, pp31-32) across eight London boroughs.
Following on from the success of a scheme established in Tower Hamlets two years ago, Forecourt Watch has now been set up in Brent, Ealing, Barking and Dagenham, Newham, Bromley, Greenwich and Croydon. Hillingdon and Lambeth should soon be on that list as well.
Pictured in this month’s SMT (from left to right) are: Paul Turner (manager of the Chimes Service Station), Ruari Robertson (pan-London forecourt crime reduction advisor for the Metropolitan Police) and Kevin Eastwood, executive director of BOSS.
