Bradford & Bingley has signed £20.8m of loans with two housing associations. St Vincent's Housing Association in Manchester has upped its loan facilities from £7m to £12m. The extra £5m will be used for development.
Chief executive Peter Smith said: "We will use it for a variety of schemes, including general family housing for rent. It will be used for a project called Pendle Young Builders involving some refurbishment work with builders who train youngsters. There is a new scheme for black and minority-ethnic people working with a Surma Housing Cooperative."

The schemes will be in Rochdale and Bolton. St Vincent's has 2727 units at present.

Basingstoke-based Kingfisher Housing Association has increased its borrowing by £15.8m to support its development programme. The deal takes its loans with Bradford and Bingley from £84.2m to £100m. Kingfisher has been a customer of the building society since 1995 when it acquired the stock of Basingstoke and Deane council.
