Steve Brawley to take over from Ron Allender as chief executive of the JIB

Steve Brawley is chief executive designate at the Joint Industry Board. He will take over the post when Ron Allender retires later this year.

Brawley joins from the Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) where he was on the employee relations team. Brawley was secretary of the Major Projects Agreement Forum. The MPA was used on Heathrow Terminal 5 to improve productivity in exchange for higher wages for m&e workers.

The JIB is a partnership between the ECA and the Unite union (Amicus section). It agrees wage deals and grades for the electrical sector.
