Briggs & Forester has been left with a £447,355 hole in its accounts following the collapse of Verry Construction.

The M&E firm was one of around 1,000 firms owed money by the Hertfordshire contractor which went into administration in May.

Only one other company, John Doyle, was owed more money by Verry. The concrete specialist was owed £1.9m according to a report by administrator BDO Stoy Hayward.

BDO said creditors were unlikely to recover any of their money.

Doyle and Briggs & Forrester worked with Verry on the City of Westminster College. The project has been taken on by McLaren Construction which last month paid £810,000 for an undisclosed number of Verry’s contracts.
