Fagerhult's new downlight range includes a range of contractor-friendly features.

The Pleaid G2 has been designed with ease of installation in mind. The firm carried out research in an attempt to reduce the time needed to install the downlighter; one result of this is the assembly clips used to hold the product in place. These allow installation in as little as ten seconds after the ceiling holes are cut to size. The product is fed through the ceiling hole then the assembly clips automatically self-align the luminaire in the ceiling aperture and hold it in position. These adapt to suit ceiling thicknesses of 1-30 mm.

When space is limited, the gearbox can be angled or completely detached from the body (see photo, above), allowing it to be more easily fitted into awkward ceiling void spaces, for example alongside ductwork. This feature, combined with a total height of 105 mm or 121 mm, means the Pleiad G2 is suited to small ceiling voids. No tools are needed for installation. An unobtrusive, integral reflector trim ring gives a smooth blend with the ceiling (see pic above right).

Pleiad G2 is the first model of the updated Pleiad downlight range to be launched by Fagerhult Lighting. Plans are set to follow this with the Pleiad SLD and Excel ranges in 2006.
