A joint industry ans police initiative aimed reducing Cash-in-Transit crime in the Manchester area has been launched by the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) in conjunction with the BSIA.
'Operation Hawk-Eye' is running in conjunction with 'Operation Hawk', GMP's already-successful street crime initiative. The new initiative is designed to be an evidence-based operation involving the deployment of a specialist surveillance company in vans clearly marked with the slogan and BSIA logo.
The vans are equipped with mobile CCTV to cover the routes and destinations of Cash-in-Transit vehicles. Any suspicious activity or incidents will be recorded and the police called out if necessary.
