I read John Lowndes' letter regarding shaving and water conservation (BSj 05/06) with interest.

My own solution to water conservation was neither as complex as his considerations, nor did it warrant a research project. In 1969 I grew a beard.

By August last year, I had conserved 10,000 gallons of water as a result of this action, and continue to do so. I commend it to all.
