Nine acre mixed-use scheme in Croydon approved

Foster + Partners has received outline planning consent for its mixed-used Ruskin Square scheme in Croydon.

The masterplan, for developer Stanhope and investor Schroders, covers nine acres next to East Croydon station.

The scheme includes 1.5mft2 of offices and 600 new homes designed by AHMM.

David Camp, chief executive of Stanhope said: “This is a watershed moment for Croydon in its ambitious plans to regenerate the town centre.

“The new scheme provides us the flexibility to meet the specific needs of occupiers and with the impetus of the new station bridge, enables us to provide excellent low cost space to live and work 15 minutes from Victoria and the City”.
