Locomotive shed sketch by Simon Smith

This week’s #buildingdoodle sketch is by structural engineer Simon Smith at Smith and Wallwork.

He says: “It was an idea for the restoration of an existing 1873 locomotive shed - the existing roof was part destroyed in a fire and the project proposed to restore the remaining roof structure but replace the missing roof with a new reciprocal structure made from CNC cut timber using nested cutting patterns to reduce wastage.”
