Buro Happold is to provide the building services to five new primary schools in Ireland.
The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme will be the first of its kind in the country and will see Buro Happold working in conjunction with contractors Jarvis.
“We have provided sophisticated daylight studies to each of the schools,” explains Susan Cormican of Buro Happold Dublin. “Working with the architects, our engineers have helped determine the window size, aspect ratio and head height in order to achieve required daylight factors. Each buildings’ natural air flow patterns have also been modelled and the designs also include integrated IT infrastructure.”
The schools are set to open at the end of 2002.
