A technical team headed by engineering consultant Buro Happold is working on plans for a new stadium in Belfast.

The City of Belfast Stadium at Ormeau Park will cater for a host of sports, ranging from football to greyhound racing and swimming. The team also includes local QS and project management firm Durnien.com, which is up for the Best New QS firm award in the inaugural QS News Awards next month, as well as Gardiner & Theobald and architect the Millar Partnership. Rod Manson, partner in charge of the project at Buro Happold, said: “This is a real opportunity for the City of Belfast to be leaders in modern stadium construction and offer comprehensive technical facilities, superior to facilities already in existence across Europe.”
