BIW Technologies' web-based supply chain management system is being used in a four-storey state-of the-art warehouse at Hatfield for online grocer Ocado.
The warehouse includes automatic materials handling and refrigeration systems. BIW Information Channel enables each team member to access all project data through a project-specific web site. It will be used as an integral tool in ongoing operation and maintenance, providing a structured set of data on each element of the building and allowing maintenance contractors to trace plant and materials.

The technology is also being used to manage design of the building's internal systems and the firm's delivery vans.

Ocado is being launched in partnership with Waitrose.
