A serial car thief has been convicted for a string of thefts in Cardiff after being caught in the act using a pick up truck, by a state of the art digital security management system operated by SSS Management Services at a B&Q Warehouse car park.

CCTV images of the car park are monitored remotely by SSS operators located in Bristol. Operators transmitted images to the police leading to the immediate arrest of the suspect, who also admitted stealing six other vehicles.

Michael Hobbs, 18, from South Wales, was sentenced to 18 months in a young offenders' institution.
