If you were housing minister, what would you do to improve the housing situation in the UK?
I’d provide more social housing on brownfield sites and improve derelict properties for priority groups such as the young, people leaving care and people fleeing violence. Brownfield sites are often nearer to employment, medical centres and social support groups. These sites once flourished with activity but have now become eyesores rather than areas that could be used by people in need.

Any advice for someone hoping to follow your career path?
I think you need to be a good communicator, an approachable person and be able to maintain professionalism at all times. I’ve been lucky to have had a lot of experience in customer service which has allowed me to meet people from all walks of life.
