Orbis has made Michael Holmes chief executive of housing property services. Michael joins Orbis – which provides security for empty buildings – from property agent Chesterton, where he was chief executive.

Gary McDowall has become director of the business assurance services audit
team of consultant Mitchell Charlesworth. He will provide audit, risk- management and corporate governance services to housing, care and charitable organisations.
Sovereign Housing Association
Ruby Unwin (left) and Chris Treacher (left) have joined Sovereign Housing Association as part-time community wardens. The association is recruiting a third warden to join them on the Nightingales, Pigeons Farm and former Sandleford Rise estates.
Sovereign joined with Greenham Community Association, West Berkshire and Newbury councils and Thames Valley Police to get £70,000 of funding for the scheme.

Tell us something we don’t know
“When I worked with Groundwork in Derbyshire I was part of a Challenge project that was filmed for Yorkshire TV. The programme made it look like everything happened in one week (including the appeal for volunteers) but in fact it took five almost solid months of planning and coercion.”
What did you want to be when you were a child?
“A fashion designer. I used to watch the Clothes Show every week.”
