John Howe has been appointed director of service and maintenance at mechanical and electrical company Powerminster, part of the MJ Gleeson group.

Milton Keynes-based construction company Terrapin has appointed Patrick Howlett White managing director.

HBG Properties has made two appointments: Dougie Peters becomes director of finance and Simon Crowe has been appointed development manager for London and the South-east.

Sally Prince has joined affordable housing provider Merlion Homes as sales and marketing manager.

Consultants

Stephen Duffy has joined multidisciplinary consultant Clarus Consulting as a quantity surveyor.

Charles Hodder has been appointed partner in the Guildford-based commercial property department of solicitors Laytons.

Covell Matthews Architects has promoted Hector Black, based in the company’s Edinburgh office, from company associate to director. The firm has also promoted three Aberdeen-based employees. Local associate Andrew Mowat will progress to company associate, and chartered architect Andy McNair and interior designer Angela Milne will become local associates.

Ann Bartaby has rejoined town planning consultant Terence O’Rourke as a director. She previously spent five years at the firm before joining TAG Aviation.

Professional services firm Ernst & Young has appointed Peter Stanton-Ife to lead its education team. He was previously programme director for Building Schools for the Future at the Department for Education and Skills.

Industrial and commercial flooring company the Flowcrete Group has appointed Sandrine Eglizeaud European marketing manager.
