Eighty nine exceptional performers in the UK CCTV industry have been identified in Plimsoll's 2002 Envy Awards, dispelling the myth that market conditions are hindering performance.
The Envy Awards highlights four categories – best trading partners, fastest growing companies, most profitable companies and leaders in efficiency.

Among the 10 strongest traders are Dennard, Vicon Industries, and David Horn Communications. They display a strong balance sheet and average growth of 46.5%.

Deefour Electronics, Acctive Systems and ECG Group are among 12 companies identified as the fastest growing companies with average growth at 47.6% compared to the industry average of 9.4%.

While the average profit margin in the UK CCTV industry is a woeful 2.7%, and 32% of the industry has been identified as loss-making, 37 companies, including RemGuard, Photo-Scan and Look Closed Circuit TV attained a 5.8% average profit. And among the leaders in efficiency are For-A UK, B and P Security Services and Teleste UK, with sales per employee posted at an average of £137,000 per employee, well above the average industry figure of £108,000 per employee.
