The Cable & Wireless Business Solution Centre in Brentford, Middlesex, was designed with creativity in mind.
Intended to function as a test bed for new ideas, the company was looking for something ground-breaking, says Maria Clifford, customer relations co-ordinator for the centre.

The result is a ground floor with a range of very different working spaces, from conference rooms and workshops to demonstration areas, and learning space. The interactive zone is an informal area where business partners can try out new software solutions on the company's strategic platforms. Elsewhere, there's a 'think tank' (below left), where users can write their thoughts on the surrounding white board walls. 'It's very much about collaborative working and reflects the way we are moving,' says Clifford. The design was created by a team from GL Hearn FM which also acted as building surveyor and project manager.
