Project manager ChandlerKBS has gained a foothold in Scotland through the acquisition of surveying practice Corderoy's Edinburgh office.

The move has secured the firm a number of contracts in Scotland and elsewhere in the UK, including two contracts with a combined value of £13m at the Jurys Doyle Hotel site, Edinburgh, a £6.6m contract at Edinburgh University and the £50m redevelopment of Chinatown in London’s Soho district.

ChandlerKBS has confirmed it will retain all Corderoy's existing staff and contracts.

The Bank of Scotland, as the Soho project’s main financial backer, “specifically asked that ChandlerKBS’s Edinburgh office act as project manager, because of the team’s experience and previous record of working with the bank,” according to Jim Gray, former director of Corderoy and now lead partner of ChandlerKBS at Edinburgh.

He added: “The new project will create a significant presence in the Scottish market and will allow the company to provide a broader range of services to clients in the water and power industries, as well as in the traditional building sector.”

ChandlerKBS delivers cost and project management services to the construction and property industry from offices in the UK and Germany.
