    Developed by Icom (UK) for on-site security personnel, the IC-R3 is a stylish, hand-held audio-visual receiver incorporating a two-inch colour screen.

    Officers can use the receivers to monitor images generated by CCTV cameras on their own as well as other sites, and listen to other radio users.

    In use, the colour screens can display up to five different layouts, including simple, multifunction, band scope, direction finding and TV screens.

    A band scope function allows the user to make a visual check of band activity near to the current operating frequency. The sweep range can be selected from +/-5 kHz to +/-500 KHz.

    The IC-R3 boasts 400 memory channels so that end users can store their most frequently-used channels. There are also 50 scan edge memories for programming frequency ranges.

    An alphanumeric help identity then 'memory channels' for easy memory management, and there are an additional ten video memories for fast retrieval of a given video source.

    Memory scanning is fast – at up to 30 channels per second.
