The provision of decent affordable housing is the main theme of the Chartered Institute of Housing Conference, which takes place in Harrogate this month. Designed for housing associations, registered social landlords, local authorities, private sector partners and other groups, the conference will try to cater for all parties with a diverse line-up of over 200 speakers, presenting in varied session formats.
The attendance of 2,400 last year was an increase of 12 per cent, while the attached exhibition was visited by 3,300, a 10% increase on 2004.
Key issues
Running on Wednesday and Thursday in parallel with the main conference programme. The 'pop-in' theatre will host a series of fast moving presentations offering best practice solutions to key housing issues such as crime, anti-social behaviour, and modern methods of construction.
