The Chartered Institute of Housing in Scotland is to publish a major report on the settlement of tenant-landlord disputes.
The report, which will be launched at the CIH's annual conference in Aberdeen next week, will call for housing tribunals to tackle eviction and homelessness cases, repair issues and rent disputes.

Such a move would mean those cases were no longer heard by the Scottish courts – this type of judicial review, the CIH's report will say, is too formal and expensive.

Research into owner-occupation will also be launched at the conference, which is on 8-11 March.

And Jim Pollock, chair of CIH Scotland, is expected to call for the Scottish Executive to launch its own inquiry into housing supply.

Other conference highlights include an interview with Michael Lennon, chief executive of Glasgow Housing Association, and speeches by Frank Field MP and Catherine Jamieson, head of homelessness at Glasgow council.
