The secretary of state for education Ruth Kelly has signed a funding agreement for a £27m City Academy planned for Hackney, east London. The scheme, designed by architect BDP and sponsored by UBS Investment Bank, is planned for a brownfield site alongside the Grand Union Canal. The project team on the 10,250m2 scheme includes QS Davis Langdon and two project managers – Tribal Property Services and the Place Group.
