Ethics and high standards are at the heart of a new code of ethics produced by recruitment agencies serving the security industry, the British Security Industry Association and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation.

Seven recruitment companies have signed up to ‘The Code of Ethics for Recruitment Organisations Supplying Security Personnel’, namely SSR Personnel Services, Blue Arrow, c2c Recruitment, Churchill Recruitment, Oasis Recruitment, the Trigon Consultancy and Momentum. To underpin the Code, all of these signatories have become associate members of the BSIA, and are inspected by a UKAS-accredited inspectorate.

Graham Bassett of SSR Personnel Services (pictured above, third from left) – chairman of the Working Group that developed the Code – stated: “It was important for us to develop a Code that would demonstrate a commitment to maintaining and raising standards. The recruitment and security sectors will both benefit greatly from it.”
