I'd like to invite Paul Reeder (24 October, Wonders and blunders, page 40) to come and visit the new-look Hayward Gallery.
Had he walked past it recently, he would not have failed to notice our welcoming new glass foyer, cafe and elliptical pavilion overlooking Waterloo Bridge, all designed by artist Dan Graham in collaboration with Haworth Tompkins Architects. Indeed, Building highlighted our re-opening in the issue of 10 October. Perhaps candidates for this column should take the trouble to reacquaint themselves with the buildings they condemn before putting pen to paper. They might be pleasantly surprised.
