I am fed up reading about the industry's lack of profile and appeal.
Is this not a populist myth spread by those not prepared to do their bit and invest in training and skills for tomorrow?

Our apprenticeship training programme (with an intake of 25 in 2003) was oversubscribed five times without any promotion. No lack of interest here, but evidence of a distinct lack of wider opportunity – and this during an apparent boom in construction.

It's high time the industry stops bleating, looks within and starts delivering.
