Clerical Medical Investment Group has launched a legal battle against contractor Kier Regional and and engineer Hoare Lea and Partners over a development in Harbourside, Bristol.The dispute is over the interpretation of an agreement for the lease of a new office made between Clerical Medical and developers Crest Nicholson (South West) in 2004.

Lorne Stewart vs Air Diffusion and others

Building services engineer Lorne Stewart has launched a legal battle over fan-coil units used at a Newgate Street project. It is suing Air Diffusion, Ruskin Air Management, Beta Naco, and Tomkins for damages for breach of contract for the manufacture, design, supply and sale of the units and other equipment for the £3.4m new-build project.

Whitbread vs Hallam Kitchens and John Dixon Associates

Brewers Whitbread is suing Hallam Kitchens, of Rotherham, and John Dixon and Associates, of Manchester, for more than £300,000 after a fire broke out at the Gap Inn Brewers Fayre six years ago. Both companies were carrying out work on a kitchen extension when a fire started.

They are accused of breach of contract and negligence.

Hagemeyer vs Aspect Contracts and Argus Laboratories

Hagemeyer (UK) is suing Aspect Contracts (Asbestos) and Argus Laboratories in a £900,000 dispute over asbestos removal.

Botes Building vs Hillview

Botes Building is suing Hillview Industrial Developments (UK) for payment of £190,780.46 due under a contract made on the 19 February this year.
