Work is underway to combine Rethinking Construction and Construction Best Practice into a single organisation to be called Constructing Excellence.
Its aim will be to deliver better business improvement services to the UK construction industry for the longer term.

Informally, the two organisations already collaborate to make the most of their complementary services and support programmes. They both agree that now is the right time to bring the two organisations even closer together.

By any measure, Rethinking Construction and Construction Best Practice have proved themselves to be remarkably effective in identifying and promoting the take-up of innovations and best practice to support business improvement. Thousands of construction businesses are participating in the various improvement and learning programmes.

By coming together, the key objective will be to create an organisation that can deliver even better services and value to the industry. Constructing Excellence will build on the successful services, structures and networks that have been established throughout the UK and seek to retain the expertise of the respective teams.

The two organisations are working closely together to identify the optimum working arrangements for Constructing Excellence, in particular its business and management structures.

Peter Rogers, current chair of the Strategic Forum for Construction has accepted the chairing role of the new organisation.
