Last week's article "Top 20 contractors face £1bn pensions deficit" (10 February, page 9) resonated with me as a pensioner of Kvaerner concerned about the £1 management buyout of the company from its Norwegian parent last April.

Our pension fund has more than 30,000 members and it occurred to me that many of your readers may also be pensioners or deferred pensioners of the Kvaerner fund through the acquisition of old Trafalgar House companies such as Trollope and Colls, Cementation, Willett, John Brown, Davy, Cunard. They might like to know of the formation of the Kvaerner Pension Fund Association, which aims to protect the rights of its members.

We hope as many fund members as possible will join, which they can do free of charge online at www.kpfa.co.uk.
