Conference: Value yourself

The facilities management sector must see itself as a mature industry ready to be welcomed into the business world if it is to take advantage of emerging opportunities in the UK and Europe.

This is what Bifm chairman Ian Fielder will tell delegates at the Bifm Annual Conference on 16-18 October — which will run alongside FMExpo.

Fielder will encourage the facilities management sector to shed its tendency to be inward-looking.

'Businesses across Europe are increasingly aware that facilities management is the second largest overhead after human resources. That represents a tremendous opportunity for the industry to add value to both private and public organisations,' Fielder will say.
