As part of an £800,000 surveillance programme covering Bridgend, Porthcawl, Miesteg, Pencoed, Kenfig and Tondu in south Wales, Conway Security Products has supplied and installed pan and tilt cameras and housings as part of the Home Office's first fully-digital CCTV solution for town centres.
No less than 55 pan and tilt cameras from Conway's DC series offer 24 degrees per second pan speed (tilting at 12 degrees per second, and recording in black and white). A BT fibre optics network allows inter-town linking of the cameras, so too direct live feeds through to the control centres.
The main, purpose-built CCTV Control Room is located at Brynceithin, where the security officers make use of Sony digital multiplexers and real-time recorders as well as direct links to the nearby police hq at Bridgend.
