BT is planning to fit out its entire 200,000 sq ft night headquarters, currently under construction at Leavesden business park, with cordless office workstations — currently the subject of ongoing pilots at BT and customer sites.
The workstation technology, the brainchild of Steve Cherry, BT's head of workplace technology will also be ready for launch to customers in the autumn, he told TheFB. Earlier, Cherry outlined the developments — known as Futurespace — to delegates at The Property Forum.

Futurespace consists of a mobile workstation with cordless peripherals and the capacity to access the company's intranet, the internet and telephone networks via a mix of infra-red, radio and digitally enhanced cordless telephony technologies. Rechargeable fuel cells can run the computer and desktop technology for two days.
