- Wireless CCTV
Swindon Borough Council was keen to upgrade and expand its dedicated CCTV system which monitors 14 Council-owned buildings as well as numerous public space areas dotted throughout the famed Wiltshire town. Consultations between the Council and Initial Electronic Security (IES) suggested the adoption of wireless technology.
IES duly supplied the cameras and specialist concern 802 Ltd the wireless IT ‘know how’. The wireless network allows cameras to be operated at a local level as well as by a central Control Room. Each site boasts 6-12 cameras linked to an on-site console which can then be used to view real time pictures generated by all of the cameras on that site. Excellent news for Neighbourhood Wardens and PCSOs in the Borough.
