BT will announce next month a preferred bidder to take on its £2bn property portfolio. Current frontrunner is said to be Land Securities.
Construction-to-services group Carillion, the lead member of the consortium chosen as preferred bidder to handle facilities management of the estate in September, confirmed last month it is not interested in bidding for the property. Consortium Monteray has signed an interim deal with BT for the management of the estate.Last month ex-Johnson Controls vice-president John McDonough took over from Sir Neville Simms as chief executive of Carillion, sparking speculation that Carillion would pitch to relist on the support services sector of the Stock Exchange.
