Counter-terrorism tops the bill in what has been described by BSIA chief executive David Dickinson as “a dynamic seminar programme” at this year’s IFSEC Exhibition (which runs from 19-22 May at the NEC, Birmingham).

Dickinson told SMT: “No-one needs to be reminded of the escalating security challenges facing us all. The IFSEC Conference, and the Exhibition that runs alongside it, draws together Best Practice solutions, the latest cutting-edge technology and advice from leading experts.”

On Tuesday 20 May, seminars focus on countering the terrorist threat. Topics include corporate security and planning post-September 11, optimising security expenditure, strategies for business continuity and ‘the explosive threat’.

Speakers include John Smith (head of group security at Prudential plc), assistant commissioner David Veness and Dr Steve Murray of the Royal Military College of Science at Cranfield University.

CCTV and biometrics will also feature heavily. Best Practice in night-time CCTV will be covered in presentations on Monday 19 May, so too detector-activated CCTV.
